The issue of sexual assault during childhood and adolescence is a specific field of practice for which many psychotherapists say they are ill-equipped. This training aims to impart theoretical and practical knowledge on the application of a cognitive-behavioural approach to trauma resolution for children and adolescents who are victims of sexual assault. It will allow participants to practise specific therapeutic skills and develop their knowledge of various clinical tools.
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Master trauma-focused treatment for child and adolescent victims of sexual assault and their non-offending parents;
- Describe the components of trauma-focused treatment for children, adolescents, and their parents.
