Sexual behaviour problems and sexual assault disclosures among children aged 6 to 12 in school setting

Description

This training offers content and tools that will allow elementary school staff to improve their knowledge and skills when they face a student having sexualized behaviors or when a child discloses a situation of sexual violence. Although in most cases, the school’s professionals will provide follow-up, it is still essential to know how to welcome the child's disclosure and to support him adequately, then refer him, when the situation requires it.

Objectifs

Following the training, participants will be able to:

  • Acquire knowledge about children’s sexualized behaviors;
  • Know the most appropriate course of action to take in a situation involving sexual behaviour problems;
  • Know the appropriate ways to react in the event of disclosure of the sexual assault of a child ;
  • Know the actions to take to report a sexual assault (when and how to report)
