Sex education is essential for the overall harmonious development of children. It is also a key factor in the prevention of sexual violence. Many children are curious about sexuality and their questions often catch adults off guard. By improving their knowledge of the various topics to be addressed in sex education, professionals will be better equipped to talk about sexuality in a way that is appropriate for the developmental age of children.
The main objective is to equip caseworkers to talk about sexuality with preschool and elementary school children from a prevention perspective. More specifically:
- Address sexuality according to the child's level of psychosexual development;
- Answer children's questions about sexuality.
