As part of the Marie-Vincent Foundation’s 50th anniversary in 2025, we launched a call for nominations last autumn to honour the exceptional people who have shaped our history and contributed to our evolution, leaving their mark in a lasting way. Over the coming months, these inspiring figures will be highlighted on our digital platforms, and their names will be permanently displayed on a wall of great contributors in the Marie-Vincent offices in Montreal.

This time, we’re delighted to introduce two wonderful spokespeople of Marie-Vincent.

Mélissa Désormeaux-Poulin

Mélissa Désormeaux-Poulin is an actress and generous spokesperson. Through media appearances and on her digital platforms, she shares the organization’s key messages, shining a light on the importance of prevention and the concrete impact of specialized intervention. May 7th 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of her volunteer commitment to Marie-Vincent. Beyond raising awareness of our mission, she actively participates in our various activities: recordings for social media, attending projects launches, taking part in fundraising events, and she never misses an opportunity to highlight the importance of our work and the prevention of sexual violence in her many media appearances. She has succeeded in rallying many fellow artists to the cause by actively contributing to our fundraising and awareness campaigns. A woman of deep sincerity and heart, she often says that Marie-Vincent ‘works little miracles every single day.’ Her dedication and compassion are true sources of strength for the entire team, who are profoundly grateful to her. With her kind and caring presence, she’s a reassuring figure little Marie and little Vincent know they can rely on, and the impact of her support is simply beyond measure!

François Morency

François Morency, actor and comedian, served as spokesperson for Marie-Vincent for 15 years, from 1999 to 2014. “In 1998, he first heard about Marie-Vincent through a radio advertisement. Deeply moved and eager to support the cause, he wrote to Marie-Vincent to offer his help! So he played a key role in raising awareness of our mission and our organization, notably through the first major fundraising events, by being the face of our very first public campaign, ‘Youhou’, and even witnessing the birth of our beloved mascot, Marvin the teddy bear, helping make it known! In addition to his media appearances, he also served on the board of directors for much of that time and masterfully hosted our annual gala at the Monument-National — a cornerstone event for our fundraising efforts. A truly committed man, his dedication for the cause helped build a protective community around each youth who receive support from our team, and generated broader public awareness of the realities faced by young people. Even today, his lasting impact continues to resonate throughout the organization.

Stay tuned to discover other outstanding figures who have contributed to our history.
