June 4, 2025, will remain a landmark date in Marie-Vincent’s history. To mark our organization’s 50th anniversary, Simon Jolin-Barrette, Minister of Justice, paid a moving tribute to our mission and to our work with youth victims of sexual violence in the Salon Rouge of the National Assembly of Québec.
At the Minister’s invitation, Lisa Clowery, President and CEO, and Geneviève Poulin, Associate Executive Director, travelled to Québec City to attend the reading of a motion officially recognizing Marie-Vincent’s five decades of dedication. The Minister spoke to the importance of our role in protecting, supporting, and helping children and youth heal, as well as in assisting the professionals who work with them.
In a deeply moving moment, all members of the National Assembly rose to give our team a standing ovation. This symbolic gesture was received with great emotion by our representatives and stands as a collective acknowledgement of the hard work, compassion, and resilience shown by every member of our staff.
Following the motion, Minister Jolin-Barrette took time to personally speak with Lisa Clowery and Geneviève Poulin, asking after the team and reaffirming his support for our mission. This event is a testament to the Minister’s commitment to combatting sexual violence, protecting youth, and supporting the organizations that dedicate themselves to this essential work. We are especially grateful for the invaluable support from the Ministry of Justice over the past several years, both for our overall mission and for specific projects that have significantly improved access to our services.
This public recognition is a tribute to all of our staff, past and present, as well as to our partners and allies. It highlights the tangible impact of our work on the lives of thousands of young people and families across Québec.
Thank you to everyone who, day after day, helps make Marie-Vincent a place of safety, support, and hope. It is thanks to your commitment that this recognition is possible.
