2022-2023 highlights of our primary school sector training program

Thanks in part to the generous financial support of the Ministère de l’Éducation du Québec (MEQ), Marie-Vincent expanded its impact in the past year by making its training programs freely available across all primary schools in Québec. The sector’s professionals built up their skills thanks to our bilingual specialized courses and our expertise, preparing them to react appropriately to sexualized behaviour problems among students and to effectively support children who disclose situations of sexual violence. Our approach stresses the importance of listening to what a child has to say and to support them with compassion.

Our participants’ feedback speaks volumes. 95.5% indicated they were very satisfied or satisfied with our training programs: clearly, our program is effective and relevant for the education sector!

• The Sexualized Behaviour Problems and Sexual Assault Disclosures Among Children Aged 6 to 12 in School Setting training course, provided to all primary school employees
• The Managing Sexualized Behaviours and Sexual Assault Disclosures in the School Setting training course, provided to school professionals and caseworkers
• Psychosocial support service accessible via the Marie-Vincent advisory services helpline; incoming calls have more than doubled this year, with a total of 532 calls, 42% of which were from the school sector
• Marie-Vincent also provides a personalized support service for the revision of intervention protocols in the event of sexualized behaviour problems and/or sexual assault disclosures in primary schools.

Marie-Vincent remains a key player in helping to create safer school environments and build a protective community by continuing to offer its training courses and sharing its expertise free of charge throughout the primary school sector.
