For its 50th anniversary, Marie-Vincent brought together two of its iconic events on November 20 at the Olympia in Montreal, during an evening full of surprises, emotions, and solidarity. <\/strong><\/p>\n

An exceptional mobilization of the business community\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Marvin on the Rock<\/strong>, now in its eighth year, was co-chaired by Caitlin Rose, Partner and Co-Head, Private Equity<\/strong> at FASKEN<\/strong>, and L\u00e9onie Larose, Partner, Assurance and Accounting<\/strong> at MNP<\/strong>. During the evening, 12 teams, made up of business leaders with no musical experience, took to the stage for the cause and gave musical performances, each more thrilling than the last.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Ombr\u00e9 provided a vibrant venue for networking, celebrating, and getting involved. Chaired this year by Vincent Fraser<\/strong>, President and CEO of Croesus<\/strong>, this 7th edition was a continuation of the event initiated by Marvin\u2019s Circle<\/strong> and led by its co-chairs, Marie-Claude Vernier<\/strong> (Associate Vice-President, Wealth Management Solutions, National Bank Financial) and Karine Lagac\u00e9-Paquette<\/strong> (Crown Prosecutor).<\/p>\n

\u201cIt seems only natural to me to get involved with the Marie-Vincent Foundation, as the cause of young people is particularly close to my heart. In addition to having been a member of a school board, I also co-founded an organization whose mission is to raise awareness about the hypersexualization of young women. For these reasons, I want to get involved with vulnerable young people. Marie-Vincent\u2019s mission is essential in a society where the needs are so pressing.\u201d

Throughout the evening, the worlds of Marvin on the Rock and Ombr\u00e9 came together, from the welcoming cocktail reception to the dance floor.<\/p>\n

The result? An amazing evening that raised $569,552 thanks to the generosity of the 500 people in attendance, providing tangible support for Marie-Vincent\u2019s mission: to help young victims of sexual violence and prevent such violence.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\n\n\t\t

Co-hosted by \u00c8ve Laurier<\/strong>, Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs at Bombardier<\/strong>, and Jean-Michel Anctil<\/strong>, comedian and actor, the evening allowed those in attendance to highlight the importance of Marie-Vincent\u2019s work and the extent of sexual violence in Quebec.<\/p>\n

In a powerful moment, Lisa Clower<\/strong>y, president and CEO of Marie-Vincent<\/strong>, invited the audience to stand up to illustrate the scale of the various statistics surrounding this problem.<\/p>\n

Alison Green<\/strong>, a dedicated member of the Marie-Vincent board of directors, founder of the home care company Bien Chez Soi<\/strong>, and survivor of sexual violence, bravely spoke out to share her personal experience. She was accompanied by Justin Trudeau, former prime minister and close friend, who came to support her in one of the most poignant moments of the evening.<\/p>\n

A surprise tribute<\/strong> was also paid to Dominic B\u00e9cotte<\/strong>, founder of Marvin on the Rock and former member of Marie-Vincent\u2019s board of directors for 12 years. Thanks to his commitment, more than $2 million has been raised since the event was created.<\/p>\n

When it came to the musical acts, the different teams put on a show that dazzled (and delighted!) the audience. Costumes, hairstyles, makeup, choreography\u2026 everything was designed to make each team shine! Thanks to the flawless preparation of Julie Dassylva<\/strong>, vocal coach on the TV show La Voix, accompanied by her band and supported by La Shop Studios<\/strong>, there were no wrong notes on stage\u2026 or almost none!<\/p>\n

    The audience was treated to not only a meal, a buffet, and an incredible show, but also a photo booth, courtesy of Vo-Dignard Provost<\/strong>, for those who wanted to capture the evening. A fabulous balloon drop, provided by Coco Ballons<\/strong>, marked the unveiling of the amount raised during the evening.<\/p>\n

    Following this exciting atmosphere, guests were then able to show off their talents on the dance floor.
