Results of our 2020-2023 major fundraising campaign

$14.7 million to support more young victims of sexual violence

Launched in 2020, in the midst of a pandemic and as Marie-Vincent was grappling with a list of 500 children waiting over 2 years to get the professional help they needed, our major fundraising campaign chaired by Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec President and Chief Executive Officer Charles Emond raised 14.7 million dollars to support even more young victims of sexual violence.

Marie-Vincent, understandably concerned with what it deemed as unacceptable waiting times to access its services, implemented an action plan to change things for the better.

This great fundraising campaign has raised:

1

$14.7 million

over 5 years to support more young victims of sexual violence.

2

$10.1 million

collected from 2020 to 2023.

3

$4.6 million

in confirmed commitments from 2023 to 2028.

A committed campaign cabinet mobilized by its president

This campaign was made possible thanks to a committed campaign cabinet. Its enthusiastic and tireless president, Charles Emond, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, rallied several organizations around the Marie-Vincent cause.

“Our children are the most precious part of our lives and we must do everything we can to protect them. There lies the commitment that drove all those involved in the Foundation’s campaign. My heartfelt thanks to every single person who added their voice to mine and helped build greater awareness throughout our community of Marie-Vincent’s mission and commitment to give our children a better future. To every donor, thank you for your generosity. We can be proud of what we’ve achieved together during this fundraising campaign, and of our efforts in building a caring and inspiring community.”

Adaptation of the Sexual violence intervention program (PISVS) to the specific needs of young people.

Impact

Waiting times down from over 24 months to 16 months.

2. Open a second child advocacy centre outside of Montréal

A new centre open to young victims in the Montérégie and to our partners.

Impact

Support for 71 children in our first year providing services in the Montérégie.

3. Provide services to young victims of physical violence

Develop a new service offer custom-made for children and adolescents victim of physical violence.

Impact

90% of all parents are highly satisfied with the specialized treatments their child received.

4. Support research into sexual violence

Continued funding for the Marie-Vincent Interuniversity Research Chair in Child Sexual Abuse to provide support for activities and projects, including a client satisfaction assessment.

Impact

80% of children really appreciated the intervention and 74% said that it was very helpful.

A message from our Executive Director

“The 2020-2023 fundraising campaign has resulted in a substantive shift within our organization. With a larger team, we can help a greater number of young victims to look toward a more hopeful future after overcoming the unimaginable. We can also develop new sexual violence prevention initiatives to build a community that protects our children.”
